Carlucci Preserve's 25,000 Criminal Dockets

Clarkstown Town Clerk David Carlucci has just completed a project to preserve over 25,000 essential Criminal Dockets from the 1980’s and 90’s for the Justice Court, which had previously been water damaged. The Town Clerk’s office was awarded a Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund Grant (LGRMIF) to fund this much needed microfilming project. Carlucci stated, “Records Grant funding helps to assist me in my goal of preserving our town’s important records. This preservation project is a critical component of Clarkstown’s Emergency Management Plan.” Since 9/11, Criminal Docket records are frequently accessed for Homeland Security measures. Therefore, it was imperative that these records were preserved to prevent further deterioration and rendered unusable. The project created archival copies for secure, permanent retention, and laid the groundwork for future digitization.
